Must Love Dogs or Why We May Not Be the Best Choice for You

For real – we may not be the best choice for you. There are many agencies in the marketplace and depending upon your needs, we may not be the best choice for you.

Here at The Creative Company, we’ve put together a team of talented and experienced designers, developers, writers, artists, marketers, storytellers and videographers. We’ve won numerous awards. We love what we do. We’ve done it for small companies ($1 mil to $5 mil in sales) to large healthcare organizations such as Physicians Plus ($100 Million+) and national brands (Half Price Books) as well.

Throughout the years, we’ve discovered that there are clients that work really well with us and others that don’t. In the spirit of saving time and because we really don’t represent everyone who calls, we thought we would just put our top 10 list out there. So here it is – and we wish you the very best with your agency search!

1. If you need to be convinced that you should advertise, have a website, do public relations, use social media or in general, have a marketing plan, don’t hire us. Successful companies invest in these marketing tools.

2. If you like running in constant crisis mode, don’t hire us. We handle crisis PR for clients and understand the occasional crisis occurs but it zaps the energy of the team when we spend all of our time there and its counterproductive in the end.

3. If you are looking for an agency to blame everything on, don’t hire us. We take pride in what we do and have all spent many years preparing to be in this place at this time doing exactly this. We are here to do it and do it well.

4. If you are looking for an agency to bark at because your boss barks at you, don’t hire us. Enough said. We respond really well to praise.

5. If you are generally an unhappy human, don’t hire us.

6. If you don’t have money to pay your bill, don’t hire us. We’re very clear about how much the investment will be both upfront and as we go along. Just as the client expects the work to be completed on time, we expect to be compensated on time.

7. If you don’t want to be bothered, don’t hire us. We’re both in this together and because you’re on the inside, we’ll need your help to achieve goals.

8. If you need your agency to be available after normal business hours, on weekends and holidays all of the time, don’t hire us. We understand the need to sometimes push through on a holiday or weekend but by and large, our employees push hard during the week and need time to recharge on the weekends.

9. If you are going through the RFP process because you want to get the lowest bid instead of the best product through collaboration, don’t hire us. Some of our clients have been with us for more than two decades. Our goal is to work collaboratively with clients, not to be the lowest price, but the best possible partner.

10. If you are looking for a vendor instead of a partner, don’t hire us. Vendors perform tasks. Partners are in it with you and for you. Who do you play for? We play for the client as a full partner.

And if you don’t like dogs, don’t hire us. We love dogs. This is Murray and you can find him in the office throughout the week from time to time. We love him and we love people who love dogs. You can pet him, feed him, talk to him and give him a snuggle and he’ll love you right back. Murray and dogs like him make life a little better and that’s what we hope to deliver to you – our client – better results, better solutions, better work than you ever thought possible.
